Visiting Rwanda
Few countries evoke as much of a reaction as Rwanda does when you announce "I am going to Rwanda for a vacation"! Many people are concerned about visiting Rwanda because of its history and perception. It is actually a beautiful, fascinating country which is surprisingly easy to travel around. Let us help you be among the few who do go!
A range of safaris are offered from shorter 4 Day Safari/Tours aimed at tracking gorillas to longer 8 Day Safari/Tours and 12 Day Safari/Tours which can start in Kigali and finish in Kampala or vice versa. Please contact us for full details.

On all our safaris you will be met at the Airport and guided in private vehicle. Whilst the roads are most very good in the Parks they are variable and so we use the trusty Land Cruisers. Your guide will tell you about the country and its experiences as well as the animals.
Rwanda is a compact country, the roads good and traffic light, so journey times are short. The Parc des Volcan being just over 2 hours from Kigali and Akagera being around 2 hours from Kigali Airport for example.
What is there to see?
Rwanda is world famous for its gorillas which can be seen in the Parc des Volcans. All of our safaris include a visit which also means that we obtain the permit for you. Currently only 56 permits are available to track Gorillas each day.
An unusual visit in the south west is Nyungwe National Park which is home to many primates.
To the east bordering Tanzania is the vast park of Akagera with its patchwork of grassy areas, savannah, marshlands and lakes, where where mammals such as giraffe and buffalo can be and crocodile whilst on a boat tour which you can enjoy. It is also home to 525 species of birds!
On the west of Rwanda is Lake Kivu and at Gisenyi a range of resort hotels on the lake side. Butare, a short distance south of Kigali is home to the National Musuem.
A great joy of Rwanda though is the magnificent views with lakes, valleys and hills intermingling around many corners. Of course the people whether walking on the roadside or guiding you in search of gorillas are endlessly helpful and friendly.
In Kigali any city tour must include 'Hotel Rwanda' and a visit to the Genocide Memorial.

Rwanda and Tourists
Rwanda has an emerging tourism infrastructure. Kigali has a range of luxury hotels and whilst hotels are more modest outside they are more than adequate and set in magnificent locations!
Gorilla's Nest Lodge - located near the Parc des Volcan entrance with excellent views of the Virunga Mountains. Note it can be chilly in the evenings at these altitudes!
Akagera Park Lodge. A recently renovated hotel in the Park and from where you can see for miles and miles. A great place to not only explore the Park from but also relax at the poolside with the views all around.
View from rooms of Akagera Park Lodge!
....and the rooms themselves.
